Gradual return to non-urgent care- COVID-19 Update

The College of Optometrists has given us the go-ahead to gradually return to non-urgent care. As always health and safety of our staff and patients is our highest priority. Our COVID-19 policy includes the following steps.

Fees – Children's Eye Exams

Children are covered by OHIP for a comprehensive eye exam every year until their 20th birthday.

Fees – Adult's Eye Exams

Eye examinations are covered yearly for adults between the ages of 20 and 64 if they suffer from disease conditions affecting the eye. These conditions include diabetes, glaucoma, amblyopia, strabismus, corneal disease, visual field defects and cataracts.

Seniors aged 65 and older are covered by OHIP for a complete eye examination every year.

Routine eye examinations are not covered by OHIP, but many third party insurance providers offer coverage for eye examinations as well as prescription eyewear.
